Fri, September 7th, 2007Gail Kinsella, Partner, Testone, Marshall & Discenza, CPAs has been named vice chair of the board of directors of United Way of Central New York. Kinsella was previously secretary/treasurer for the organization. United Way recently celebrated its 85th anniversary of bringing the community together to make Onondaga County a better place
to live.
Kinsella holds leadership positions in a variety of professional organizations including: director-at-large for the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA); president of the Foundation for Accounting Education Board of Trustees, NYSSCPA; and a
member of the advisory committee for the Career Opportunities in the Accounting Profession (COAP). She is past president of the Society's Syracuse Chapter. She is also chair of the Accounting and Auditing Committee for CPAmerica International.
Kinsella is actively involved in a variety of activities in her community as well. She is past president of the Board of Directors of Hospice & Palliative Care Associates of Central New York and the Auxiliary to Hospice of Central New York and has served in an advisory capacity for a number of non-profit organizations locally. She also
writes a monthly financial advice column, Accountability, for the Central New York Business Journal and has authored a variety of articles for CPAmerica International.
Kinsella has a B.S. in Accounting from LeMoyne College and is a graduate of Leadership Greater Syracuse. She has been honored as one of Central New York's 40 Under 40; and is a recipient of the CBS WTVH-5 2005 Women in Leadership Award; the 2004 Central New York Women in Business Award and the Junior League of Syracuse In League and Community Service Awards.
Kinsella resides in Westvale with her family.
