The Central New York market now has a link between employers and job seekers: CNY Employment Guide.
Mon, July 16th, 2007At a time when most people are taking their summer vacations and departing for camps on lakes, rivers or in the mountains, hosting graduation parties and grilling sumptuous family barbeques outdoors, Meals on Wheels of Syracuse is performing the very critical service of providing meals for the frail elderly and homebound folks. Traditionally, the summer months are difficult as many volunteers vacation and, just as we all do, plan their time to include rest and relaxation. Still, the need for volunteers to help package and serve the meals provided by this organization is very real and essential to those who rely on this service, particularly in summer.
Absolutely no experience is necessary to help assemble, package, deliver and serve the meals. If you want to do something to give back to the community or want to feel needed and useful, volunteering for Meals on Wheels is the "job" for you.
Meals on Wheels of Syracuse needs reliable volunteers to work the hours of 8 to 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. Those who would like to help should contact Edward Brown, volunteer coordinator, Meals on Wheels of Syracuse, 300 Burt St., Syracuse, NY 13202 or call 478-5948, ext. 213.
